Roxy Summers, better known as Roxy Cottontail, has traveled the world perfecting her signature Cottontail style, while collaborating and breaking eclectic indie talent that might otherwise be overlooked by commercial pop culture.
Coming to New York in 1997 with dreams, drive and a tube of lip-gloss, Roxy incorporates her deep roots in punk, dance, electro, house, hip-hop, reggae and rock to make people come together, dance and have a good time.
Using her unique flair and style, this budding icon made her national debut hosting dates on Rock the Bells Summer Tour in 2008, followed up with a feature on the cover of URB Magazine and additional features in i-D, The New Yorker, worldwide issues of Time Out, Mix Mag, Warp, BPM and Spin Magazine that featured Ms. Cottontail in their Top 25 Must-Hear Artists at the 2010 Bamboozle Music Festival in New Jersey alongside bands like Weezer and Paramore.
In 2009, Pepsi added Roxy as the first female DJ in the Pepsi DJ Collective, gaining the attention of additional corporate sponsors and clients such as Ray Ban, Calvin Klein, Heineken and more, leading to event collaborations with industry heavy weights Steve Aoki, DJ AM, Iggy Pop, Benny Benassi, Afrika Bambaataa, Far East Movement and Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas.
It is with continued success that Roxy is carrying her talents into the studio creating songs with Armand Van Helden, Drop the Lime, Party Squad and legendary Electroclash icon, Larry Tee, including her 2010 international club hit “Bounce Little Kitty” with Larry Tee and Afrojack. In addition, she made an introductory appearance on television with features on ABC’s 20/20 and on episodes of HBO’s “How To Make it in America”.
Currently Roxy is preparing for her history making debut at The Palms Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, where in July 2011, she will become Sin City’s first imported resident female DJ. This is adding to the excitement of the recent launch of her Lifestyle Enhancement & Marketing Agency – “Hey Girl Hey” and independent music label, “Bunnyjawn”.
From Hong Kong, New York, Las Vegas, Stockholm, Miami, Barcelona, Iceland and Tokyo, her skills, talent and varied tastes have propelled Roxy Cottontail to the top of the music world with no signs of slowing down. Music, marketing and recording, “Oh My!”
